Empowered MGMT started in the middle of the work. Back in 2017, running the entertainment company OCTIV meant hundreds of shows a year — and being around that many artists is what turned management from a job into a calling. The pull was simple: building something from the ground up with an artist who genuinely loves what they make.
There's nothing like watching someone do more than they thought they were capable of. Becoming a world-touring artist is one of the hardest things to pull off in music — and that grind is personal. It mirrors years spent chasing a pro-baseball dream: knowing firsthand what that kind of effort really costs, and what it takes to keep showing up.
That perspective was earned on every side of the business — including 7½ years at Relentless Beats, the largest promoter in the Southwest US, managing artists the entire time. Live events, records, the room and the release: all of it.
The first artist project was built from scratch — no agency, no shortcuts. 250+ shows across seven countries and 20+ label signings, before the work grew into rooms with world-touring artists.
By 2023 it was time to give that work an identity — something bigger than any one name, that the artists could get behind. That became Empowered MGMT. Today that's Carrie Keller and SHERM, with more to come.
